We had a grand time at the opening of our fourth season last week. A happy crowd showed up. The sun made an appearance. There were spring greens of all sorts, of course, and delicious asparagus, eggs (white, brown and blue-green) and red radishes and rhubarb. With a little more sunshine, we may see the first strawberries soon, if not this week, then maybe next. Recipe for wild February soup

Take some snow. Melt it. Select some driveway rocks and add to pot. Rub some brown oak leaves briskly between your hands, and stir into the soup. Leave it outside overnight in the pot and then pour it on the front stoop. Be sure not to get your slippers wet. Continue reading ...
